I’m Elia Johnson, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker offering therapy for adults navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, and the lasting impact of difficult or overwhelming experiences. You may be moving through a period of change, grieving a loss, feeling anxious or disconnected from yourself, or noticing that familiar patterns are no longer working in the same way.
My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in curiosity. Together, we slow things down, make space for what you’re experiencing, and explore the patterns that have shaped how you relate to yourself, others, and the world around you.
As a licensed clinical social worker and certified 500-hour yoga teacher, I integrate traditional talk therapy with mindfulness and somatic awareness. For clients interested in exploring the mind-body connection more deeply, I also offer 75-minute Somatic Sessions that can incorporate individualized yoga, movement, breath, and grounding practices.
My office is located at 724 Boston Post Road in downtown Madison, Connecticut, where I offer in-person therapy and Somatic Sessions. Virtual therapy is available throughout Connecticut and New York.
Beyond individual therapy, I provide clinical supervision for social workers, as well as trauma-informed evaluations, expert court testimony, and trainings for legal and mental health professionals. My background includes more than a decade of forensic social work and work with individuals, families, and professionals impacted by the criminal legal system.
Across my clinical, forensic, and educational work, I bring a belief that people and their experiences deserve to be understood in their full complexity.
